There is no need to say that we are very lucky to be living in Adelaide. Despite the crisis and disruption all over Australia we are still operating and doing everything we can to ensure you get to move home, access storage and retrieve items from storage. Total Care Movers is remaining open during this time as there is no restriction as of yet to stop us from assisting our customers with removalists services. We will work hard to ensure all your needs are met in a safe and clean manner to reduce the risk of infection and spread. 

What we are doing 

The health and safety of all our customers and employees is very important to us and we are working hard to keep everyone as safe as possible while remaining open to provide our services.
Our first step to a safer workplace during the pandemic is to bring all quote processes to Zoom meetings and/or Facebook Video chat. This allows us to still have the personal communication of seeing and interacting with our customers and still keep everyone as safe as we can. Digital video chats allow the customer to still show us items to be moved and the scale of the job without us needing to be on site to make the assessment. 

On the day of moving, our team will maintain social distancing rules and touch as little as possible in your home. The social distance can make the moving process very difficult so we ask that everyone be patient and bear with us. To help with the moving process we ask that you provide a sketch of where you would like items to be placed, inform our staff from another room or digitally, or move the items yourself if you are able to do so. All these steps aid in the process of moving your belongings, keeping yourself and your family safe while reducing the chance of possible infection spreading. 

Is is safe to move house during the pandemic

Currently it is still safe to move home during these difficult times. It is always best to keep up to date with any news from SA Health and ringing the COVID-19 hotline if there is anything that doesn’t make sense or if you have a very specific query. You can also call our team if you have any questions regarding your move and we will do the best we can to inform you of any details relating to our move. 

How do i plan to move during covid 

First things first is to see where you are moving to and what restrictions are in place for you and your family. As rules and regulations are changing very rapidly it is always best to call the COVID-19 hotline to keep fully up to date with news. 

Next step is to call your local removalist Adelaide business and see what steps and precautions they are taking to keep you, your family and their staff safe. 

Finally make sure you have everything readily available and make moving your items as accessible as possible for your removalist to pack your belongings and maintain social distancing rules. 

How can i stay safe during my move

If you have any small symptoms showing or have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 it is best you let your removalist know so they can support your move and move all of your items in a timely fashion. Paying for your removalist services over the phone or by card is highly recommended to reduce any contact or transferring of cash. As always, wear a mask if possible, wash your hands thoroughly and sanitise as often as needed.

Requirements of customers

At Total Care Movers we require a few things from our customers so we know you are safe and our employees are safe to carry out any work that you need. 

  • If you are displaying any cold and flu symptoms
  • Travelled interstate or overseas in the last 21 days 
  • If you have been in direct contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 
  • Or if you have been advised to self isolate 

If any of these are applicable to you or a person within your home, we will need to asses the situation at hand to see if we are able to help you move while still abiding by rules and regulations. Keep in mind this may come down to needing to reschedule to keep everyone, both customer and staff as safe as possible. 

We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation daily and will follow any advice given by the authorities. If any rules or regulations do change we will be contacting all affected customers to reschedule or reassess what we can do to help.
